Saturday May 17, 2014

Can't remember the last time I posted but here I am and not much to say really.  That's why I don't post much.  I'm not very good with words and can't come up with what to write.  We live a very quiet and usually a very sort of dull life.  We really don't do much.  Well this morning Terry woke up and felt like cooking so we text our  kids kids across the street and said anyone interested in breakfast ii will be served at 11am. Well one was still sleeping and didn't want to get up and 2 were gone to a basketball tournament down in Lexington so that only left our daughter Patti and one son, Tyler and they came over.  Terry fixed pancakes, sausage and omelets and they loved it.  Terry does this every once in awhile.  Usually more that 2 come over though.  They call him the Cracker Barrell.  Sometimes he does it for dinner too.  They really enjoy it and we do too.

We usually take our grandchildren out to dinner for their birthdays and we are 2 behind.  Well I finally got hold of 1 of them today and we are set up for next Thursday.  Now I just have to get hold of the other one. Sometimes it hard to get together with them.  They have such busy schedules.  We really enjoy doing this. It's fun having each kid one on one to talk too.  Only they are all not kids any more.  The oldest is 22 now and with ll of them and the youngest is 8 now.

We had to get a new computer not to long ago and I'm not to savvy with them or it.  We had a friend come over and install it for us and I am very self conscience and scared about downloading anything on it and it seems like it is forever asking me to download stuff, but I don't do it.  I hope I'm doing the right thing by not downloading things.  I'm so afraid of getting a virus or something.

Well, till next time.  Take care, and God Bless.  Judy

October 14, 2013

Well it's been awhile since I've posted but not much as happened.   I have been having some problems with my right leg which is my weak leg from my MS and I had and short version of an EMG last week but he didn't find anything worth while.  I'm having and MRI this Friday and I have this feeling that they are not going to find anything with that either.  I personally think I just plain need to get up and move around more, that I am to seditary and don't get enough exercise. I do know I have arthritus in my hip too that bothers me. I've been trying to get out and walk more since the weather has been so nice and it has seemed to help with the pain in my ankle and my leg.  It is not as bad as it was so maybe that is all I need.  I've even been going down in our basement and using my exercise bike a few days a week too.  So I guess this has all helped, because I am not having the pain that I was having before.    So, I guess the saying is true, use it or lose it.  But I didn't think it meant that you would get pain and I was getting bad pain in my ankle and then on up my leg.  Now I am only having mild pain in my theigh and my butt area. Have been having more trouble with my balance than ususal too and seem to be falling a lot more than usual too.

Other than that we have been kept busy with the grandkids.  They have been having football games which we havn't been going to very many  because it's not pleasant to have to sit on cement bleachers for a few hours, or even if we sit on a stadium seat.  So we've been very picky about which games we go too.  We try to go to at least one game for each of them instead of all their games this year.  They have been very understanding but I do miss going and seeing them play.  One grandson that is away to college gets to come home this weekend and we are anxious to see him.  Some of his buddies that are also away at college are also coming home too and one of the parents are having a party and we are invited and that should be fun.  We really miss him.  He is a great kid that use to come over and just sit and talk to us once and a while and we really miss that.

Not much else going on.  Loving this fall type weather were I can get out and walk a bit.   Take care all.

July 29,2013

I'm really down today as my daughter told me yesterday the she and her husband are going to be getting a divorce. They almost did about a year or so ago. She even filed papers and then they worked it out through counseling and gave it a try but deep down I guess I knew it would never work out, that things would never change between them, but I could always hope. But I guess it's just not going to work out. I feel for all of them expecially for the 3 kids. The oldest is leaving next Tuesday to go to College and the other two, are 15 and 13. One a sophmore and the other one is the eighth grade. I think they saw it comming and weren't to surprised when they were told. It's still going to be hard on them. It's going to be a long time in the making or a long drawn out process so I'm not sure what to expect. Time will tell. I dread this process. I haven't been feeling the best in the world to start with and I'm sure the stress from this isn't going to help my MS. My legs are already wobbly and I've been trying to walk as much as I can to get some strength into them and I will keep trying to do that. I didn't feel like going out to dinner tonight with our policeman friends, but Terry said we should go anyway to get out of the house and I guess he's right. If we stay home we will just sit around and mope and think about it so I guess we will go anyway and share our bad mood with them. Won't that be nice of us. lol

Monday July 15, 2013

I haven't written anything in quit awhile so I thought I'd let you know I'm still around. Haven't been feeling the best lately so I thought I'd write it down. I first thought it was my back but now I realize its my hip that's bothering me. The doctor gave me some shots in my back twice and it made my back feel better but my hip is still bothering me so now I realize it's my hiip that is the center of my pain. I knew that I've had some bulging disk's in my back for years so I thought that was the center of my problem but when the back got better and the hip is still bothering me I now know it's the hip. I live a pretty cendintary life style so I know I need to get myself up and moving. So I've started walking and forcing myself to get up and get some exercise to loosen up to see it this might help me. I know that my sitting around is not good for me, I need to get up and move around. So I'm trying and hoping this might help me. Not much has been going on around here, first we get lots of rain and now it's in the 90's and hot. This weather just can't make up it's mind. Our dog Rosie is doing just fine we just love her to death. We bought her a small plastic swimimg pool for when it gets hot and she gets in it and just walks around, she doesn't really lay down yet. but I think she might. She plays with some toys. We did have a nice surprise last weekend on the July 4th weekend. We were talking to our grandson who is in the Navy on the phone and the door bell rang and Terry told him sorry but he had to go and answer the door but we will call him back and he went to the door and here it was him at the door home from the Navy to surprise us. We just about fell over. We were so shocked and so glad to see him. It was a wonderful surprise!! So we got to spend to whole day with him. It was great!!! It was the greatest surprise I think I've ever had!!! We sure enjoyed our day with Jake!! His Mom and Dad and whole family had just left to go on vacation so we got to spend the whole day with him. It was wonderful!! Hope all is well with everyone. Have a nice summer!!

March 25th

Spring where are you? I think everyone is beginning to wonder if it's ever going to get here. I know I sure am. I'm sick of this cold damp weather. Snow even. Come on, we need some sun shine, please!! I really think we are sick of this. I'll take 50's and sunny, even 40's. Well we are leaving for Florida the day after Easter, and you just watch while we are gone we will get our nice weather and then when we come back it will get cold again. It will be just our luck. We are going down to visit some friends that have been down there all winter and they said we could bring Rosie which should be interesting. I really don't think we will stay more than a week but we will see. They are in a big trailer so I just can't see us staying longer than that even though it's a big one. We've stayed with them before when they had a dog but it's been a few years back and I can't remember how that was so we shall see. We've been going to allot of basketball games. Our one grandson is playing on a special team that plays almost all summer and it's like all tournaments every weekend, which can really wear you out, but you do it out of love for the grandchild. He is a really good player and really loves the game. Three doors down from us, the house caught on fire on Friday night and burnt to the rafters and the foundation. A total loss. Their automobiles also. It must have started in the garage with a space heater and the two cars blew up and the rest of the house went so fast we couldn't believe it. You could see flames above it three houses away and some said they saw it three subdivisions away. Everyone got out OK except the dog and the firemen wouldn't let them go back in for the dog as things kept exploding. The only ones home at the time were the parents and the dog. The four kids were gone which was a blessing that they didn't see it happen. They had fire departments from four different places here and the fire plug is in front of our house. We are on the corner and they are three down from our back yard. It is so sad. The flames were so bad the it damaged the house next door to it too. But that house can be repaired, but they are out for awhile until they get fixed up. They lost their upstairs to fire and smoke and I'm sure it will take awhile for fixing and repair to that house, but at least it can be fixed. The other house is a complete loss. Even the house on the other side had their siding melt and are going to have to have that redone. The neighborhood and school have passed notes around asking for gift card and money and stuff for the families. They are going to need everything as they lost everything. My heart goes out to them. We will all do what we can I'm sure. I hope everyone opens their hearts and their wallets and gives. They are going to need it. I also hope they have good insurance so they can rebuild. God be with them.

March 11, 2013

Not much going on at our place to tell you about. Just life going on as usual. Our grandson Jake left for the Navy and the only thing they have heard from him is that they got a box of his clothes sent home with a note in it telling them that his graduation from boot camp will be on April 26th. So that's all we know. I really miss him and have been saying a prayer for him every day. I hope he's doing well and hope he's not too home sick. I'm hoping they are keeping him too busy for him to get home sick. I'm hoping he's making friends and enjoying it as much as one can enjoy boot camp. I hear it's pretty hard, pretty physical, really tiring. I got confidence in Jake and know he will do well. Just knowing he's gone, I really miss him, but we are so proud of him. Rosie is really doing good. She has stopped jumping up on people since we started using a small mixture of water and Listerine and we spray it on her if she starts to jump on anyone or anything and she stops in her tracks. If she just sees the bottle she backs off. Sometimes we just mention getting the bottle to spray her and she backs off. It's really made a difference with her. I sure wish someone would have told us about it sooner. When the doorbell rings now I stand at the door with the spray bottle in my hand and she backs off and a person can come in and not get jumped on. It's great. Can't wait for some nice weather so I can get out and start walking around the neighborhood. I really miss do that.

Monday Feb. 18th 2013 Well last week I went out to lunch with a few of the girls I went to High School with. We went to the Cheese Cake Factory. That's the first time I've been there. They have so much on there menu that is was very hard to choose what to have for lunch. I finally choose a burger, as I love burgers. It was very good. Then I had a piece of Raspberry Vanilla Cheesecake for dessert. Yummy was that good. Again they had so many to cheesecakes to choose from. One of the girls got a coupon on her receipt for $10.00 off the next time she comes so now she's wanting to go again. I said give me a month or two and then I might be ready to go again, cause it was really good, but a bit pricy. On Saturday our Son Michael and his Wife Kim had a surprise going away party for Jake, the one who is going in the Navy. They pulled it off to. He was totally surprised too. All his friends, and family and everyone were there and I've never seen so much food. There must have been 100 people there. My two cheese balls I made looked so small among all the rest of the food. It was all so delicious. They had it at a recreation center where the kids could play basketball or volleyball or even, I can't think of the name of the other game where you throw the sand bags into the wholes. You probably know what I mean. Even the adults were playing that. Anyway we had a great time there. I was supposed to go to a baby shower the next day but I was so exhausted that I just couldn't go, so I call and told them I couldn't make it. I felt bad but I just couldn't make it. Just too much in one weekend. Well take care. Hugs.

2/11/13

I hadn't realized that it had been so long since I'd blogged. Not that anything earth shattering has happened in my life to tell you about cause nothing has. Terry and I are just going along same as always but we have been busy with the grand kids. One of our daughters, her oldest, Jared has been given a scholarship. It's part football and part academic which I think is even better that just all football, but anyway it's to a small college down in Kentucky called Lindsey Wilson and he signed with them last Wednesday and we went down with them for his signing. It was very exciting for him and the whole family. It was a 3 1/2 hr drive each way and the signing was a 4:30 pm to give all the kids time to get there from all over the US that were signing. Then the trip home after a nice dinner, so it was a long day and a long drive home which did Terry's back in. He was hurting pretty bad by the time we got home. Just goes to show us that any long trips are out of the question for us any more. Other than that we've been busy with our daughter's youngest son Adam who is in the 7th grade and has been in the finals for basketball. So we've been going to his games and rooting his team on. His last game was Saturday and they won the finals in the District for the State, so we are very proud of him and his team too. They each got individual trophy's and the teams got a big one too, and Adam was named all team all star. That was nice!! The school opted not to go all the way to state for some reason. Maybe next year. They sure had a great season and a great team with a good group of boys and parents and grandparents too. It's been a fun year with them all. Other than that not much has been going on. I've been busy reading Ken Follett's Trilogy that he's got out now and it's been great. His third book isn't even out yet but I just finished his second book called "Winter of the Worlds" and it was as good as the first one and for the life of me I can't remember the name of that one. Both are huge books but have a great story line with allot of history mixed in. Usually I don't like history but this on I loved and really felt I learned allot too. The story and characters were so mixed in with the story line that it was great. I can't wait for book three to come out.

Monday 1/20/13

The temperature really took a dip last night. It's cold and windy outside now. If it's going to be this cold I wish we had snow to go with it. There must have been some ice or something on the expressway today because there was a 50 car pile up on the highway earlier today. I saw pictures of it on Facebook, and it was really a mess. We go out on Monday night to eat and I doubt if they will have that cleaned up by then but I think that is farther up that we have to go, anyway I think it is. I'm going to have to double check. I don't know if I told you that one of our grandsons is joining the Navy. It is Jake, the one who graduated last year from High School. He is the one that I've always said that I wanted to live long enough to see what he becomes because I always thought he had allot of potential and I always thought he could go far. Well he is. He is going into Nuclear Engineering and I just found out this past weekend that he signed up for not just 4 years but 6 years, and it really upset me. Jake has always be very special to me and to us I guess I should say. He is always so easy to talk to especially to Terry. He likes all the things Terry likes. Anything re History the Military, and also guns so whenever we see him he's always in deeps talks with Terry. Well when I found out that he'd be gone for 6 years it just crushed me. 4 years was long enough but 6, I just lost it and started crying. Every time I think about it I start crying again, I just can't help it. We've got 11 grandchildren and I love them all, but Jake is just so special and 6 years is so so long. I know he will get to come home on leave and whatever, but still, that's a long time. He leaves for boot camp the end of February, and we will get to go up to Chicago to see him graduate from boot camp and then he will go to the Carolina's to start training for Nuclear Engineering. We have been going and watching our one other grandson play basketball and we watched 2 others in wrestling matches on Saturday. One won 1st Place and got a gold medal. On Friday nite we went to a party on our daughter Patti's oldest son who turned 18. They surprised him at a local pub and all his friends and their friends and the grandparents were there too. Our son and his some of his family were there too. He was really surprised too. It was allot of fun. Even Patti's boss and his family came. They are really great folks too.

1/2/13/

Sorry Lois I forgot again. Last week we went to our primary care doc for Terry one day and then the next day we both went to the dentist which I absolutely hate to do but we both knew we had cavities so we knew we had to go. Well on the way out I asked if it was OK to eat on the filling and they said yes but be careful that you don't bite on your lip because of the nova cane you won't be able to feel it. So we went home and I proceeded to have a bowl of soup and crackers and wam bam I proceeded to go right ahead and bite my lip. I didn't even realize it till later. Darn if that thing is not still sore. My lip was swollen for a few days and it is still a bit but only on the inside and it's still a bit sore. I know that sores inside your mouth are long in healing so shame on me. I'll never do that again and I thought I was really being careful too. What a dummy I am. Well it's kept me from eating much and that's been a good thing. Making sure I'm eating soft things. Terry has been having trouble with his hearing or his hearing aid again again. He's been back to the audiologist and they rechecked his hearing and now he goes back to the EMT doctor tomorrow. I know he's not hearing real well, especially in groups. He only hears the one on his good side or the one in front of him and all the outside noise is terrible. I keep hoping they can help him or get him a different hearing aid that will work better. His one ear they can't do anything for at all. He's lost all hearing completely in that ear. At one time they mentioned getting Choler Implants and I think if they would mention it again he might go for it because he's sure not hearing very good this way. Well I'm hoping they can do something better for him. I feel sorry for him in groups, I can tell by the look on his face that he's not hearing what is being said by everyone, and not feeling part of the group. It's sad. We've been going to a few basketball games for the grand kids once in awhile when the play a home courts. I don't know if I told you or not but the one Grand Son that graduated from HS last year has enlisted in the Navy and is going into Nuclear Engineering program. He leaves for basic training the end of February. This is one of my son's 8 kids, the 3rd one down and the first one to really know what he really wants to do. He and Terry have always been really really close and talk allot about things, always talking History and Military stuff, and I think he picked the Navy to follow in Grandpa's footsteps. Terry couldn't be prouder. He's the first one to go away and that's going to be hard the family and on us too. Well I finally remembered and I wrote a nice long on for you. Hope your having a nice week. I'm sort of having a crummy one with my lip bothering me, but I'll live, I'm sure. Hugs.

Monday 1/14/13

I don't get it. I wrote a post last Wed. or Thurs. and it's not listed. Gosh and it was such a long one. I must not have saved it and now I can't even remember what I wrote about. I can't even remember now what I was going to write about now. Oh I know. Lois, I feel terrible, that I think I forgot your Anniversary. I haven't been on the computer much over the weekend because my Facebook is messed up. I was talking to a friend on the phone while I was on Facebook and I was scrolling up and down and all of a sudden it shrunk up on me. The whole thing and I can't figure out how to get it back to normal. The whole page doesn't cover the computer screen. It's only about 2-3 inches wide and the writing is so small that I can't even read it. The names on the right where it shows the names of the people on chat and so on is so small I can't read that either. I don't know what to do to get it back to normal. It's like the whole thing just shrunk up. Just Facebook. Everything else is fine. When I use my e-mail of something else on the computer it works fine. My son is out of town and is coming home Wednesday night and said he would stop over on his way home and see if he could figure it out. The airport is right by our house so he can stop before he heads home, but I had better call and remind him. I sure hope he can fix it. I wish I could remember what I told you in last weeks blog. Oh it might have been that Terry is still having problems with his hearing aid and that we've been back and forth with the audiologist trying to get them adjusted so he can hear better. They are really trying hard with him but in a group it's really hard for him to hear especially when we go out to eat and they have music on and it gets so loud. He really has a hard time then. So do I sometimes. When it's one on one he's OK but groups are a problem and his right side is completely lost and there is nothing they can do for that. When watching TV he just reads the words. I guess it's all better than nothing at all. Well Happy Anniversary a bit late. Your 50th, a very special one, and I miss it. I'm so sorry Lois. Hugs. Judy

November 12th

Well I am all football out. We had 3 games this past weekend. I went to the one on Friday night for my one grandson and it was a really close one but they ended up losing. It was sad. I've never seen Jared cry but he did after the game as it might be his last football game, if he doesn't play in college. He's had a couple of colleges interested but who knows how interested they really are. It's a wait and see sort of thing. He's filled out his applications for the two schools that he'd like to go to, that showed an interest, so now I guess they just wait to see if they are really interested or not. We hope so. He's really pretty good. Anyway on Saturday there were two more games, one at 1pm that Terry went to and one at 6pm that Terry went to too, but I just didn't have it in me to go, so I just stayed home. One team lost and one team won. So now we only have one team still in playoffs and that's a college team and I think their game next week will be away. So I don't think we will be going to that one. Basketball will start after that but we don't have as many grandsons playing that as we had playing football and at least that is inside. Thank goodness. Other than that things are pretty quiet around here. It sure is nice not having to listen to any more political commercials. I sure am glad that is over. I pray God will watch over our country and our President and guide him in what he does and lead him in the right direction. We haven't had too bad of weather but I'm sure it's bound to change sooner or later and winter is going to be upon us and I'm not looking forward to it. Thanksgiving is coming up and we are having it here, but we are just having Patti and her family so it won't be bad. She's a big help and so is Terry so it should be nice. I'm really sort of looking forward to it. I've started on an exercise program finally. I had Jared take my exercise bike downstairs with the treadmill and now I've been going down every other day and using each of them for 15 minutes each. Mentally it's making me feel better knowing that I'm doing something. Terry is still trying to talk me into going to the Y with him on Mon., Wed., and Fri., but I'd rather do it at home even though some of the machines he tells me about, I know would sure help me. I'm thinking about it, maybe. Right now I'll stick to what I'm doing for awhile and see how it goes.

Monday November 5th

What a terrible thing to happen to the east coast. Hurricane Sandy really made a mess of our states there. High water and winds really tore through New Jersey, Connecticut, and New York and probably a few other states coming up the east coast. Most of the pictures I saw were of those states and wow, what a mess. Water was 10 ft high and even went down into the subway system. I couldn't believe that. It's really going to take time for them to get that all cleaned up and sanitized and everything before they can get that back up and running. They said they are really going to be worried about diseases after this whole thing is over and done with and I can sure see why. All the rats in New York city were up and running all over the place. It's just sick to think about all the dirt and filth that is all over everything and how are they ever going to be able to get it all cleaned up? I don't think I ever want to go east any time soon. Even Pennsylvania and West Virginia were flooded too, but I didn't see many pictures of that so I don't know how bad it was there. I know even places in Ohio had bad storms and high waters too, even snow some places. Nature can sure be really nasty sometimes. All I can do is pray for the ones in the path of all that nastiness and count our blessings. Bad things happen to good people sometimes and I guess this is one of those time. How are all those people going to be able to get to their voting places on Tuesday? I guess they will figure something out. I sure hope so, cause I'm so fed up with all the political ads on TV that it's got to be over with. I've had my fill of them. All I can do now is pray that the right candidate wins for our country. We've been busy routing our grandsons on in their football games. They are now in the playoffs and the games are really getting exciting. But the weather is getting really cold too. We went Friday night and we left in the 4th quarter cause I got so cold. I was wrapped up in everybody's blankets and I was still cold, so we left. Saturday night I stayed home and Terry went to a different grandsons game. Both nights they won, so they will be playing again next weekend. I'm hoping to get to go if it's not too cold. I'll try dressing a bit warmer too. I had on long johns but I guess I'm just too cold blooded. I like going to the games, they are really exciting, but I don't like getting that cold.

October 22nd

It's Monday and I remembered I'm supposed to post. Well lets see what can I tell you about. Not much has been going on this past week. Terry's cousin Alan stopped through on his way to Florida and stayed two nights and we had dinner with Terry's brother and his family which was nice. We don't get to see them much, so it was great to seem then all. Well it was only Terry's brothers son, wife and two little girls who are cute as a button. They are I'd say 8 and 6. Then next night Patti and her family came over for dinner and Alan got to see them too. Usually Alan stays for a week but this time he only stopped by for 2days. He was anxious to get to Florida. I can't say as I blame him. I wouldn't mine going myself if I had a home down there. Well I wouldn't want to go until after Christmas if it was me though. We didn't go to any football games this week and I'm glad we didn't as Friday night was cold and rainy and I know I would have froze. A Saturday game would have been OK but our grandson that plays on Saturday played out of town. So much for football. Terry and I did take one day last week and drove down into Kentucky a ways to a gun store that someone had told him about that he wanted to check out. It was a nice day and we really had nothing else to do so we just took off. I took my book with me that I'm reading and I read while he was in the gun store. Afterwards we went to General Butler State Park for lunch. They have a very nice lodge there with a nice restaurant and a buffet lunch and dinner. So we had lunch there. It was very good. It was a nice day. Just to do something different and to get away from the house was nice. We have done this before and have found it just nice to do for a change of pace.

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

I don't believe it. I had a whole page typed out and I hit a key and the whole thing went puff and was gone. I don't even know what I hit. That was the longest blog I've ever written too. Lets see what did I tell you about. We went to 2 football games last weekend. One on Friday night, that got so cold and windy that we left a bit after half time. I was freezing. I couldn't believe it. Then on Saturday another grandson had a game and the weather was beautiful. This was a college game, Thomas Moore. The grandson Friday night won and the grandson on Saturday won too. After the game on Saturday our youngest grand daughter Olivia came home with us to spend the night. That was really nice except that our dog Rosie wouldn't leave her along. Rosie is a sweet heart but we have not been able to break her of jumping up on people. We're still working on it though. We don't get enough company. That is her only problem but Olivia handled her pretty well. After church the next morning we had to take Olivie home as her Mom was taking her with some neighbors to a pumpkin patch and Olivia wanted to go. It was nice though when we took her home we got to see the rest of the family, all expect one, which was nice, We always like seeing all the kids, only they really aren't kids any more, they are turning into men. They are all getting so big. The oldest is now 21. We went out to dinner last week with my sister and her hubby and their best friends that we know too. They came over here to a place they like that has the best fried chicken. It is so good. They serve it country style where you can have as much as you want, of the chicken, green beans, slaw, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, and drinks. It's really greats. Afterward they came back to our house for dessert and coffee. That made me get out my few Halloween decorations. I'm worried about my brother in-law! He has cancer and it's everywhere. In his lungs, his spine,hi hips, his larnex and his lymph nodes. They gave him 6 mos. to live. He found out when he went for his 6 mos check up for his lung cancer that he had. But they are blasting him with chemo in hopes that will work. He had his first chemo the day after we all went out to dinner. It took 7 hours. Please keep him in your prayers. His name is Ronnie. Thanks. I'm reading a book by Ken Follett now called "Fall of Giants". I just started. Terry has read it and said it was one of the best books he's ever read and he couldn't put it down. It is "Book One of the Century Trilogy" and book two just came out. Terry has his name one the waiting list for that at the library. There were 35 people ahead of him on the list, but we don't know how many copies of the book they have. They probably have more than one. Ken Follett is also the author of "Pillars of the Earth" if you've read that or heard of that. He's a great author. Only thing is this book I'm reading is a big one, 900 pages and heavy. I'm used to reading out of my nook so this is really different for me. I don't get things on my nook unless they are free so I'm out of luck on this one. Well see you next time. Hugs.

September 24th

I finally remembered on a Monday that I'm supposed to blog. Aren't you proud of me Lois? Well lets see. Last week we didn't do much of anything as Terry's back was locked up on him from the week before and he was down for the count. It started loosening up bit by bit on Tuesday slow but sure and by Friday he felt good enough to go to one of our grandson's foot ball games. I didn't feel like going for some reason. I think I just felt too lazy really. Anyway he went and stood the whole game cause sitting on those bleacher for him is really not good. He brought home a winner too. He said it was a good game but that the coaching left a bit to be desired, which we've been told before. We've got stadium seats to take with us but if Terry uses them he doesn't feel like he can really lean back and put his full weight on them as he has broken one before, so that's why he is just more comfortable standing. Quite a few fellows stand for the whole game, so I'm sure he had someone to stand with. I'm back to my walking outside. I tried to walk Rosie but she is just too strong for me and she's fine until she sees someone or something and then she wants to pull away and I can't hold her and I've fallen twice now, so that's the end of my trying to walk her. If she gets walked, Terry is the one who is going to have to do it. I am smart enough that when I feel a fall coming on I head to the grass, and usually get a soft landing and I been very lucky not to hurt anything. Just a few bruises here and there. This week on Friday we have Grandparents day with 2 of our grand kids to go to. We've been to these before and the teachers show you around their rooms and the things that they have made and been working on and tell us what a good student they are and show us some of their work. It's kind of nice but it's well, I'd better not say. Have a nice week everyone and I hope this nice fall weather stays.

Sept 6th Not too much has been going on. Football season has started with all of our grand kids and our one granddaughter is started with track and field. A couple of other grand son's are back to college, one playing football too. They could all keep us really busy going to games every week if we wanted to, but we are not the type of grandparents that feel we have to go to every single game, plus it is not real comfortable on the back sitting in those stadiums, even using a stadium fold-up seat that we can take along. We do try to get to a few of there games every season especially when their team is doing really well. We don't go when it is really cold though. Can't handle that. Think I told you I got and I pad for my birthday, well I am really enjoying it. I haven't gotten to use it as much as I would like to because I'm reading this book that's a 900 hundred page book and I'm trying to get it finished before it is due at the library. I read book one of it on my nook and this is the follow up book and I'm really in to it, but I'm not that fast of a reader and I've already renewed it once, so I don't want to renew it again and I'm almost finished and I can't wait to get done so I can spend more time with my I pad and really get in to that. I know there is a lot of things it can do that I haven't figured out yet. I'm looking forward to learning as I know I need to learn new things as I can feel my mind slipping and I figured this would be good for me. That's all for now. Sorry I haven't written in a while, but you know how I get. Forgetful. Sorry.

Nothing much going on this week. Went out to dinner with our normal group on Monday night, which is always fun. I don't know if I ever told you that one of the ladies in the group that I loved dearly passed away last year. I probably did tell you but I don't remember, but I still miss her very much. She was such a sweetheart, but I know she's where she wanted to be, which is where her husband is and back together once again, and in heaven with heaven with the Lord. Anyway we always enjoy our Monday evenings out with out friends. Saturday night we went out too, which is very unusual for us, but the daughter of an old friend of ours was going to be singing at a place up the street from us and we decided to go. Patti and I wanted to go, just to see how she did and Patti talked her brother into coming over so we ended up with the whole family going. Me and Terry and Patti and Greg and Michael and Kim and it was really nice. Kathy the girl we went to see really did a nice job. A great job in fact, she has a really nice voice. I remember her singing in church when she was young just like Patti just to do too, but Patti never followed it up and Kathy did and she still sings at her church in this area too. In fact the guy that was her guitarist and background music that nite, she told us is the main musician at their church and takes care of all the music there. I've been to that church and they have great music program. Well can't think of much else except I really count my blessing as I been talking to some people that really have things hard and it makes me feel really blessed. Take care and God Bless.

July 23 rd

Well I know it's been awhile since I've posted and it's weird we've had to get a new keyboard and I'm still not use to it for just straight typing. I don't do much of that in my everyday doing of things. Anyway, let's see what is new. With Terry and I not much except Terry is still trying to get use to his hearing aids and it's not as easy as one would think. His one ear is beyond hope so he's only got a hearing aid in one ear so that makes it even harder to get use to. He has to be looking at you to really hear you and he really has a hard time in crowds and in restaurants where the is so much outside noise. Has hard time in church too but he is really trying hard to adjust and they have been working hard with him. He has been having dizzy spells too and they are working with him on that too. He is supposed to go for therapy for that but it's not yet set up. On the another front our son in law had a bad accident when they were on vacation in Tennessee. They went zip linning and he came in too fast and hit the back of his leg and tore it up badly, He's had 3 surgeries including one for skin grafting and the skin graft is taking to slow adhear. He's has been having to stay off his feet in order for it to heel. Also while they were down there Patti had a car wreck and totaled their Van. She wasnt' hurt, thank goodness. But they sure didn't need that added on to Greg's leg accident. In the end all got handled and she's been driving Terry's car for the past 2 weeks as their insurance didn't cover a rental and now they finally with the help of Greg's father have gotten another car so now we just have to get Greg better. The doctor down at the trauma hospital said it looked like a grenade went off in his leg, and it's going to be a long road back in recovering and therapy and all. He needs to go back to a skin specialist again next week and then eventually an orthopedic for therapy. We just hope they are understanding about it where he works as he's going to be off for quit awhile. I Think he is on some sort of disability for now but I don't know how long that will last. Please keep him in your prayers. Thank You. Well I guess that's it for now. Love and hugs..
